Collaboration with Joe Harrison - 216 Signs

The Crosspool community in Sheffield wanted a recently unearthed hand-painted advertisement for a canned pea company restored to its former glory. By the time we arrived, much of the original artwork had flaked away, so the process began with careful preparation, removing any loose paint and sealing the remaining before we could start repainting.

We spent a good while in the archives researching the sign, finding out it was originally painted back in the late 40’s/early 50s and had been hidden behind a billboard for years before being revealed again recently. With no original image to work from, the design was reimagined using old adverts and photos from when it first reappeared.

This was such a fun project to be part of and a massive thanks to Crosspool Forum and Sheffield City Council for trusting us with this little piece of history!

Also shoutout to all the local businesses and residents who were so supportive and kept us warm with endless cups of tea.
